Minister Javid Dar Meets Handwara Fruit Growers, Traders to Review Horticulture Concerns

Handwara, September 19: Jammu and Kashmir Agriculture Production, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Cooperatives and Election Minister Javid Ahmad Dar on Saturday visited the Fruit Mandi Handwara in Kupwara district and interacted with fruit growers, traders and other stakeholders associated with the horticulture sector.
During the visit, the Minister sought feedback from stakeholders on various issues affecting the horticulture sector, including market infrastructure, basic amenities and the overall functioning of the fruit mandi.
The interaction formed part of the government’s ongoing engagement with fruit mandi associations to understand ground-level challenges and explore measures to improve market facilities and strengthen the horticulture sector.
Fruit growers and traders apprised the Minister of their concerns and urged appropriate intervention to ensure better infrastructure, improved facilities and smoother functioning of the mandi.
