Reinforcing the ongoing _Nasha Mukht Abhiyan_ campaign, Noor-ul-Huda Educational Institute, Bagh-e-Islam Khahipora, Qaziabad Kupwara, organized a large-scale drug awareness rally on Friday to mobilize youth against the growing menace of substance abuse.
The rally was flagged off from the school premises at Khahipora Qaziabad amid passionate slogans and a strong sense of purpose. Hundreds of students, accompanied by teachers and school staff, marched through the town and culminated at National Highway Palpora. The long procession of students in blue uniforms carrying banners and handmade placards drew attention from locals along the route.
Participants raised powerful slogans like “Say No To Drugs” and “Don’t Be A Slave To Chemicals,” while placards carried hard-hitting messages such as “Drugs Are Like Knife Which Kills Your Entire Life.” The visual appeal of the rally, with students holding colorful posters depicting the dangers of smoking, injections, and addiction, left a strong impact on onlookers.
During the rally, speakers addressed the gathering and underscored how narcotics are hollowing out society from within. They warned that drug addiction not only destroys the individual but shatters entire families. The speakers made a direct appeal to the youth, urging them to channel their energy into education, sports, and skill development instead of falling prey to drugs. They emphasized that the fight against drugs cannot be won by the administration alone and requires active participation from parents, teachers, religious leaders, and civil society.
The school administration said the objective behind the rally was to sensitize students at an early age and equip them to become ambassadors of change in their communities. “Classroom lessons are important, but taking the message to the streets creates real impact,” a faculty member noted. The institute reaffirmed its commitment to the vision of a _Drug-Free Jammu and Kashmir_ under the _Nasha Mukht Abhiyan_ launched by the government.
Local residents appreciated the initiative, saying such programs help break the stigma and encourage open conversations about addiction. The rally concluded peacefully at Palpora with students pledging to stay away from drugs and spread awareness among their peers.
Noor-ul-Huda Educational Institute, affiliated with J&K BOSE, has been actively participating in social outreach programs alongside academics to build responsible citizens.
