A joint market checking drive was conducted today at Kralgund Qaziabad in district Kupwara by the Tehsil Administration, Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department, and SHO Kralgund to ensure strict implementation of market regulations and consumer protection measures.

During the inspection, various markets and business establishments were checked for quality of products, valid licenses, rate lists, hygiene standards, and other mandatory documents. The team also inspected the expiry dates and proper storage of essential commodities to safeguard consumer interests.
Officials stressed the importance of maintaining quality standards and adhering to government regulations. Several shopkeepers were warned against violations, while a fine amounting to ₹3,900 was imposed on erring traders for non-compliance with prescribed norms.
The authorities reiterated that such drives will continue in the future to ensure transparency in the market and to protect consumers from unfair trade practices.
