On Teachers’ Day

September 5 is observed as Teachers’ Day in India, a day dedicated to recognising the invaluable contribution of teachers in shaping the lives of students and building a better society.
Teachers hold a special place in every society. Their role extends far beyond classrooms and textbooks. They inspire curiosity, encourage students to dream, guide them through challenges and help them develop the confidence and values needed to face the world.
A good teacher does not merely impart knowledge; they nurture character, discipline, creativity and compassion. Every successful individual carries, in some way, the influence of a teacher who believed in them, encouraged them or showed them the right path at a crucial moment.
In today’s rapidly changing world, the responsibilities of teachers have become even greater. With technology transforming education and information available at our fingertips, teachers continue to provide something that technology alone cannot offer—mentorship, human connection and moral guidance.
On this Teachers’ Day, students, parents and society as a whole should acknowledge and appreciate the sacrifices and efforts of educators. A simple word of gratitude can mean a great deal to a teacher.
A teacher plants the seeds of knowledge today that grow into the achievements of tomorrow.
