Under the ongoing Nasha Mukht Abhiyan initiative, Noor-ul-Huda Educational Institute organized a drug awareness rally on Friday at Khahipora Qaziabad in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The rally commenced from the school premises at Bagh-e-Islam Khahipora and culminated near the National Highway at Palpora. A large number of students, teachers, and members of the school staff enthusiastically participated in the programme, carrying placards and banners displaying anti-drug messages. Participants also raised slogans aimed at spreading awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encouraging youth to stay away from narcotics.
The awareness rally witnessed active participation from students who appealed to society, particularly the younger generation, to reject drugs and adopt a healthy and productive lifestyle. Through speeches and awareness messages delivered during the programme, participants highlighted how drug addiction has emerged as a serious social issue affecting families and communities across the region.
Speakers on the occasion stressed the need for collective responsibility in combating the growing menace of drug abuse. They emphasized that educational institutions, parents, civil society members, and government agencies must work together to create a drug-free environment and protect the future of the youth.
The school administration said that such awareness initiatives play a vital role in educating students and the general public about the devastating impact of narcotics on individuals and society. They reiterated their commitment towards supporting the mission of a Drug-Free Jammu and Kashmir under the Nasha Mukht Abhiyan campaign.
The organisers further stated that awareness programmes, rallies, and educational campaigns would continue in the future to strengthen public participation in the fight against drug addiction and to promote a healthier society.
